After learning this, Alex visits Latka (busy baking cookies to fulfill supermarket orders) to give him the bad news. Latka is visibly high from the cookies and hallucinates that Famous Amos is telling him to do whatever it takes to succeed. Although Latka can no longer sell the drug-laced cookies, he is thrilled by the taste of capitalism, as it means he is now a true American.
