This makes Stephanie want to join the Giants and play for Danny, and her surprising talent for pitching makes it easy for her to integrate into the team. In an upcoming game, the Giants are scheduled to play against the Cubs, so Brett tells Stephanie not to push herself and not to throw the "Tanner Twister" every time Brett is at bat, as Brett's father will be at the game filming him, and Brett doesn't want his father to see him outplayed by a girl. However, Stephanie simply cannot bring herself to lose the game for Brett, and the Giants win when Stephanie strikes out Brett for the third time in the final inning of the game.
